Team defined as is a group of individuals with skills that complement other team members, and united by the same goal.
Team members have to be able to understand each other, communicate together effectively and help to each other. 
That is the reason why it is crucial to determine early whether an individual is a good fit for a team or not. 
 
There are lot of people who are skilled professionals, they have all needed essential experience but how to determine whether he or she will become a good fit for a team.
 
There are two important things when hiring an employee:
 
1. A person should have an experience to accomplish required work. 
2. A person must be a good team player.
 
Here is what makes a person a great team player. 
 
1. Expresses thoughts clearly and coherently
2. Interested and highly motivated in common goal. Thinks about team as a possibility to accomplish a goal, not a threat. 
3. Shows commitment to the team
4. Listen to other team members with interest
5. Respectful. Treats others with respect. Team members have to respect opinions of others and treat each other equally.
6. Helping. Makes an attempt to help others. 
7. Sharing with others his or her ideas and knowledge. Good team players gladly share everything: information, knowledge, and experience.
8. Feeling responsibility both for personal contribution to the team and for team results. 
9. Good team members can be count on. They will do their job best at all time not just sometime.
10. Not stiff. They must be able to adjust to varying requirements and information. 
11. Logical. Explain reasons for own ideas. 
12. Participating in discussion willingly and suggest fresh ideas
13. Motivates. Good team players motivate a team for high performance.
 
Here is how to determine whether a candidate have all required qualities. 
 
To determine whether a candidate is a good fit, try asking him / her questions about their past experiences working in a team. When asking try not to let person know that you are looking for a team member. Just interview him / her as usuall.  
 
Specific questions: 
 
- What makes a team successful? 
- Provide an example when you were working in a team with other people?
- Was it successful? 
- What role did you have in a team? What responsibilities? 
- What complications you've experienced working in a team? 
 
When listening a potential team member, you are listening to hear that he or she values teamwork and have quality required to work with a team.
